Raw silk dupioni is one of the best known silk fabrics, with its characteristic texture, and stiffish (not drapey) handle. This is a hand loom quality with the more lustrous slub texture. For a much larger range of shades see our quality 6448, and the smoother 4238. A classic bridal fabric especially for bridesmaids, but also popular for prom dresses, and other special occasion dressmaking. Two-tone or 'shot' colours have warp threads in one colour, and weft threads in another. Although called 'raw silk' this fabric is fully processed and dyed.
