This lightweight silk crepe satin is a very drapey, medium weight, and reversible silk fabric. Its light weight and the breathable nature of silk make this crepe back satin ideal for summer blouses and weddings in hot climates. Crepe backed satin material is a bridal dressmaking favourite for elegant couture gowns, in figure-hugging, flowing or drapey 'Grecian' styles. Using both the satin side, and the matt crepe side in the same garment, allows many useful effects, such as a top in the satin side and bottom in the crepe, or a whole garment in the satin, with crepe trimmings.
