Crepe back satin, also called crepe backed satin, or just crepe satin, is a versatile reversible dress fabric. In silk or polyester, it is a very drapey satin fabric, ideal for figure-hugging, flowing or drapey 'Grecian' styles. These satin materials are popular bridal satins, also for proms, elegant evening gowns, etc. Using both the satin side (most are very shiny), and the matt crepe side in the same garment, allows many useful effects, such as a top in the satin side and bottom in the crepe, or a whole garment in the satin with crepe trimmings.
