This two-tone silk chiffon is a very lightweight, sheer, and floaty dress fabric. A distictive fabric for adult bridesmaids in the wedding party, and special occasions. Compared to georgette, chiffon is slightly more transparent, more floaty, not quite as drapey, and sometimes even more lightweight. It has a matt crepe texture. Two-tone, 'changeant' or 'shot' colours change colour subtely sa the fabric moves. Chiffon is also commonly used in dressmaking for overlays in evening wear and prom dresses, in blouses, scarves and lingerie.
